The kids at Haverford High can breathe a sigh of relief as the FCC granted a construction permit to move to channel 260 (99.9 Mhz). This is great news as WHHS is the first Class D station in the U.S., starting broadcasting in 1948 (or 49, not sure). This is the first time a displaced Class D was able to get onto a second-adjacency channel. Kudos to all the engineering team at du Treil and Radio One to make this happen. WHHS will not cause new interference on gound level, though it's possible that WHHS might receive interference on the two adjacent full power channels, but we'll have to see. WHHS needs to recalibrate their equipment as soon as possible as their STA runs out December 18th, 2005, which should be plenty of time. Congratulations to everyone in preserving this valuable and precious educational asset.
