Clear Channel must be looking to dump some more stations. They just sold 92.1 & 105.5. I know that when the refied a few years ago they said they wanted to sell everything over market 100. And Sals/OC is market 145. So that would be my guess.

But they dumped 92.1 and 105.5 because they had to. If they were trying to get rid of more, I think they'd try to get out of the market entirely.

My guess would be Great Scott dumping 106.1 and 107.7.
 
I can see 106.1, but Great Scott has applied for an upgrade to a B-1 for 107.7, and with that piece of paper 107.7 is worth more than $800,000.

It could be the K-Love stations, that would double their money. Other possibilities based on comes that own two or more FM's on Maryland's Eastern Shore: Great Scott-3 MD FM's, Delmarva 3 FM's, Clear Channel 3 FM's, MTS 3 FM's the Easton group 2 FM's, all other operators have one.

Good point about 107.7. Change my guess to 101.7 in that case, with the 101.7 format moving to 107.7 after sale.
 
Could be Delmarva. They could be dumpping WICO-FM and The Jazz station since these stations are making money. Delmarva is not making the money they use to.
 
In looking at the ad a little closer, it says Eastern Shore, but that could also mean Delaware since you have to chose a state. If so, I would think 106.1 in Pocomoke and 101.7 in Ocean View (on the WZBH tower) Pocomoke has been silent, and 101.7 has not been doing well in the ratings, then fired their Program Director/Afternoon Announcer last fall. I doubt Delmarva would sell anything, especially since WICO-FM and WQJZ are both automated. I won't be surprised to see them dump the Jazz on 97.1 for oldies though. Clear Channel had to sell two stations, since they changed ownership, and had to met the newer market rules. If they were to sell it would be all the stations. I understand that they are cutting their studio space in half though, no need for all that room for only 15 employees.
 
I doubt it, since they have 4 stations in one facility, and they only really have competition from WCEI/WINX, they really don't compete again the Salisbury area stations.
 
WCEM and WTDK barely compete with the Easton stations...they would have no chance in hell to compete against Salisbury. WTDK is their biggest signal and they treat it as a throw away stick. The audio sounds horrible and they run all satellite programming. WCEM is such a bad mix of a format that it is unlistenable for more than 10 minutes.

I do see them, however, trying to sell down their stations. I would say 100.9 WAAI and 107.1 WTDk.

But, realistically, I do see Great Scott trying to unload 106.1 and 101.7. Both are rather "low" signals and are making nothing at all.
 
The stations are 106.1 in Pocomoke City and 101.7 licensed to Ocean View, Delaware. They are owned by Great Scott Broadcasting. 106.1 is currently dark, and 101.7 is automated. I understand another religious broadcaster is looking at the stations.
 
101.7 would be a good station to purchase but 106.1 is so far down South how could you make money?
 
Why would a religious broadcaster want to be in Southern Delaware. We already have K-Love on 92.1 and 105.5, WOLC, The Reach FM, The new 88.7 The Bridge. Lots of land not alot of people to support more Religion. In this day everyone is so broke and can't give how would the stations stay alive? At one time those stations were worth big money but not now. Lets face it 105.5 and 92.1 sold for 200,000 each!!!
 
I know the stations for sale but can't disclose due to NDA. They are full market radio stations, very much underpriced. The buyer is going to get the deal of a lifetime. josh
