Which CHRs Still Censor The Word Sex???

So we're on the cusp of 2011 and surprisingly enough I've discovered there are still CHRs out there that feel the need to censor the word sex. Evidence of this was found today by listening online to Jackson, MS local CHR/Pop outlet Y-101 when they played Katy Perry's "California Girls"

Are there other CHRs you know of that edit out this word? I know in the past there were CHRs that struggled with the word. Q-102 Cincinnati even refused to play George Michael's mega 80s hit "I Want Your Sex" (even during the airings of American Top 40), and I'm sure some CHRs felt the same about Salt N Pepa's "Let's Talk About Sex".

BTW, Y-101 is one of a growing number of stations that also stream on Social Media platforms. It's homepage links to its Facebook stream:

Y101 is my hometown station. I'll need to listen out for it the next time I catch it. They have some weird edits of songs. For instance, they censor the word "coming" in the Maroon 5 song "This Love" ("keep her coming every night") and the word "drugs" from Nickelback's "Rockstar".

I noticed in the song "Birthday Sex" the word sex is cut out. Only heard it on a couple Cumulus stations. They say Birthday Shhh instead, sounds bad.

And another one.. WLKT Lexington 104.5 The Kat,, always bleeps out Sex

I have heard AC stations air "Sex..." in the non-Snoop version of "California Girls". You would think you hear that edited out on AC, not CHR.

I found it odd back in circa 2002 when some CHR/Hot AC stations would play Meredith Brooks "Bitch" in full, but would edit out that word in Pink's "Just Like A Pill". Some Gen X stations still do that today.

^Lol I can't picture a station playing Bitch/Meredith Brooks and editing out the word every time she sings it - it'd sound pretty dumb I think

KIIS and even sister Channel 9-3-3 San Diego also played "Birthday Shhh". I didn't really mind it so much, nor was I pretty surprised since KIIS is pretty conservative when it comes to explicit songs.

Surprisingly though, they don't censor "sex on the beach" when they play "California Gurls".

Agreed, playing it edited like that would be dumb. But my point was if a station is going to air a song titled that way and is mentioned in the chorus numerous times...then what is the harm in it being mentioned 2 or 3 times in another song?

Is there any station that played "Sexy Bitch" instead of "Sexy Chick"?

No clue - in the 70s radio played The Bitch Is Back by Elton John (assuming it wasn't censored lol), so it's pretty weird that people are more conservative now

The most blatant hypocrisy I've heard is on some AC stations, which play the edit of Kid Rock's "All Summer Long", where "smokin' funny things" is changed to "thinkin' funny things"... but yet all this past month they've been playing the unedited line "smoke your marijuanikah" in Adam Sandler's "The Chanukah Song"!

It is absolutely ridiculous to censor songs. You draw 10x more attention to the song by doing so.

Wouldn't think Clear Channel would edit the word sex in "Birthday Sex" on KIIS.

Also I gotta add this one. I been hearing the song "What's My Name" by Rhinna and Drake and they don't edit out the word "weed", but they edit sex out during "Birthday Sex".
