Which Markets Will Get A CHR In The Coming Days/Weeks/Months?

Cincinnati will pick one up with Cumulus buying.
Dayton needs one with Channel 945 doing a sucky job and Z93 being gone.
Columbus.... would be nice to go against heritage WNCI.

Let's go Ohio.

Hopefully L.A... with all of the ClearChannel cuts, Mr. Ivey has his hands full trying to program 4 stations. Nice opp now for someone to pounce.

Atlantic City is starving for a good CHR, but a CHR/Rock hybrid wouldn't be bad either. Not Hot Hits and not 'JSE, but something in between.

Bump to the top for this thread I'd started just a couple of weeks ago ;D
Looks like John77 is getting his wish tommorow.
Keeping my fingers crossed for cities like San Francisco in the coming weeks (and Movin 99.7 does seem to be heading in that direction).

Well........... I'll just say Phoenix definitely does not need another rhythmic. Maybe an improved rhythmic, but with one real rhythmic and all these others trying to lean rhythmic, I don't see any room for anything more. We even lost a spanish top 40, while the latin rhythm format station lives on! With all the rhythmic activity going on here, I'm surprised that the A.M. stations here aren't trying to be rhythmic news!

Given the format's resurgence over the past 2 1/2 years (much better 25-54 numbers, very PPM-friendly, best ratings for both KIIS & WHTZ in over fifteen years, and continued awesome results from 'the usual suspects' including WNCI, WVKS, WDCG, WZEE, WXKS, etc.), expect to see several more, and especially after the spectacular debut for AMP 97.1/LA.

ATLANTA NEEDS A REAL CHR/TOP 40! At best we have one that images as "Atlanta's Hit Music Station" but is actually a hot-AC and another one that calls themselves "All The Hits" but is heavy on the recurrents and will only play stuff by Black Eyed Peas and Flo Rida after 7pm! Very frustrating!

Electroboy is absolutely right. Star 94 would sound better if it sounded more like 93.7 STW Wilmington - that station is adult friendly, but plays tons of new music alongside older titles that work in its region. At nights they sound a little hipper, more Rhythmic/Pop friendly, with a good DJ. Best of all, the station sounds real, almost organic at times, rather than a cookie cutter station.
Speaking of cookie cutter CHRs, Q-100 would be wise to revert back to its music formula that it held while being owned by Susquehna - it was truly an all hits station, and sounded like a major market CHR rather than a sleepy small southern town.
