Which newly-created station sounds better? The new 93.1 WMQX/The Wolf or the new 94.1 WTHZ/Majic? I got to hear Majic yesterday and I think it sounds pretty good. Much better than The Wolf!
I don't like the sound of either one. HITZ 94 had a good clean sound before, now it's mushy and I'm sure it's probably due to some of the software programming or that old Tanner Crap. Wolf is about the same but they sounded awful with oldies also. So I don't know how to compare. No Vote from here!
Compair WMAG, 94.1, and 93.1.... 99.5 has by far the best all around sound. I know that "the Oldies" recordings are poor compaired to todays recordings but 99.5 has the best "FULL" range sound. Mr.Ted has all the CC Stations sounding mighty fine..... All good stuff.... Now back to some JAVA!!!
The sound is getting better on 94.1 as some tweeking was done today. 99.5 and TQR sound the best in the market to my ear. Today, I did notice TQR having a bit much high end. Destorted a bit too. 93.1 sounds adverage as well as Simon 98.7. I think Ted at CC has a magic box in the audio chain. I think he hides is at the transmiter site behind the STL. Regardless both sound real nice.
Still think we need about 15 % more hi-end and 10% on the low side I might have to bring my W2IHY EQ Plus to the station. That works well on my 3k ham gear!!! Hal will get it fixed he knows what to do folks....
