Which station have a better future Amp Or kiss?

Well, when Kiss stops being #1 in the market. Have any of you looked at the ratings lately and also (most importantly) the fact that Kiss is one of the top billers not only in Boston, but the country?!

Kiss isn't going anywhere anytime soon. It's a gold mine for CC.

AMP doesn't need DJs.

KISS needs "The DJ" to stay in the game.
Without Matty what is KISS ?
A solid afternoon guy, but Seacrest and Jackson aren't that good.

There's room for 2, just like there's room for 2 sports FM's. Don't doubt Amp, they'll be a force to be reckoned with. Once Dan Jr. is in the building and a staff is added after the holidays, things will only get better.

I get why there's no staff on air yet but I hope adding jocks doesn't prove to be a liability for AMP. I'm sure one of the main draws from a listener point of view is that they're jockless. Radio people and fans aside there are a lot of listeners who would rather just hear the music. Other than mornings they'd better keep their people very brief on the air and I'm not sure that music intensive mornings would be a bad idea.

CBS would be smart to staff up 103.3 with some really good personalities, and avoid the voice tracking. They could expand the format slightly to include more of the music that is on WBMX, not primarily just the dance hits that are on it now. A well programmed 103.3 will ultimately spell the end of one of CC's top 40 signals; which one will flip and to what format will it flip to?

Siegel is a monster talent who deserves every penny since he could go to any station with demos older than WXKX and deliver a prodigious audience and could probably do the same at a new station with a younger audience. He could even say the new music is awful and they'd listen.

I used to drive my kids to school when he was doing the "Right Now" feature, still the most underrated segment in Boston radio. The wise father never interferes with a daughter's punching of radio buttons, so I became a reluctant listener. It was amazing that this guy on a kid oriented station could be relevant to me but he was. I have never heard any other announcer, on any other station, anywhere in the radio universe with simultaneous appeal across demographics. A lot of it comes from his ability to relate his own experiences to his audience.

IF he leaves, the station changes and everything is in play. He is the only personality in Boston radio you could build a station around.

When did Matty go to ESPN 1340 in West Virginia? ;) We know you meant WXKS

But, you're right. He is worth every penny.

Because most Radio host at KISS 108 is mostly Voicetracked :(
So yeah, I'd say "Amp"

Well said! The RBDS display info pretty much obviates any real reason for a jock to interrupt the music flow. ESPECIALLY on a CHR!

You kidding? Jackson is a mad genius. Besides his fast, fun on air bits, he does his own videos, blogs, tweets/facebooking. Seacrest isn't especially talented, but has all the firepower Hollywood can muster.

Hearing lots of ads on AMP, latest ratings reflect that. AMP won't survive.

AMP came in at #3 with 18-34. And, that was done in the span of four books. With no drivetime DJ's who
are starting next month and despite Kiss 108's heavy TV ad blitz, that's not too shabby. Kiss108's 18-34's YTD
are down and so are Jamn's. Not saying AMP will overtake Kiss in the next year, but it's going to make it
for a mighty interesting winter.

I heard a great promo today on 103.3 AMP Radio where they were doing DJ auditions, and one of the "auditions" was of a very old man claiming to be Matty in the Morning. They're not holding back.

We'll see if AMP's upward trajectory continues once they hire some DJs.

That tactic may work with some teens, but insulting someone who has been the listeners "friend" on the radio for so many years can actually backfire.
