All of the Senior Road FMs will be capapble of IBOC, perhaps before the end of the year (I know, that's this weekend). The antenna and combiner have been replaced, and I believe they got new transmission line as well. Very expensive project, 3 million + to get it all done.

Surely 104.1 won't convert to digital until after the Cumulus acquisition is completed on KRBE...and don't call me Shirley.

I've noticed that the KTBZ slopover on 94.9 (widely reported) has disappeared, so either they fixed the Aux site or are back on the Senior Road tower. Anyone know?

As far as I know the Aux. sites are still going, as far as from Sunday on into Monday. I'm not sure if they turned it back on today or not, I'm back up here near Austin, so I cant really confirm that.

All the 9 stations at Senior Road will most likely go digital at the same time, or at which time everything is tested and ready for the station/s to produce digital radio for the 20 to 30 people able to pick it up.
At this writing the testing of both the analog and digital systems through the new combiner and up to the new antenna has not been done. This testing should happen sometime in January, and if all goes well the Senior road stations will be digital as well as analog.

Not sure of the exact date of this data from Ibiquity, but it is fairly recent. Texas has 79 licensed stations and 36 on the air in HD Radio. This is from www.ibiquity.com .

In the Houston area the list is:

Licensed & Broadcasting in HD Radio:
KPVU 91.3 {Prairie View A&M}
KKRW 93.7
KIOL 103.7
KLDE 107.5

Licensed & Not Broadcasting in HD Radio:
KPRC 950
KCHN 1050 {I don't know how well this will work with 2nd adjacent KNTH 1070}

KUHF 88.7
KKBQ 92.9
KTBZ-FM 94.5
KHMX 96.5
KODA 99.1
KRBE 104.1
KHPT 106.9

No one is the state of Texas is using the 2nd channel and Multicasting yet.

There was a posting on the DFW board 10/24 that KZPS was running a Texas Country format on their HD2 channel.

I don't doubt it. The list that Ibiquity has didn't list KPTY 104.9 which went HD Radio yesterday. It does not list these stations on the Senior Road tower that are going to HD Radio either; KHJZ 95.7; KBXX 97.9; KILT-FM 100.3 or the station at 101.1. KSBJ 89.3 wasn't on the list and I'm under the impression that they are in the process of going to HD Radio at this time, as well as KZBJ and KXBJ. I would think that Radio One would have KMJQ switching over at any time, as well as KROI, if they didn't when they went to the new tower. Ibiquity's list is as good as their AM HD Radio.
