Which will happen first?

Which will happen first?

(A) 93.3 changes format

(B) Rush Limbaugh converts to Democrat

Never mind, the answer is so simple there's no challenge here.  Obviously it's (B).

Excuse this interruption to the dead Columbus (Ohio) board. We now return you to your regularly eternally scheduled under-utilization of the only new truly city-grade FM signal to come to Columbus in over 35 years.

I kinda like it dead. It's symbolic of the general deadness of Columbus radio. Someone could've started a "Columbus July PPM's" topic to go with the June one that we had, which of course would've been very exciting for everyone, but it didn't happen. So let's see, WLZT up a little bit to 4.0, you've got to be happy about that, Nu -- but WTVN and Rush Limbaugh down by over a point, aw, too bad. And as for WCRS, well, who knows? We proudly and resolutely refuse to play the game, how noble of us!

I've noticed how dead this board has been too. Few thing i have noticed in the ratings is that both Mix 107.9 and rewind look like they are getting started to go on a somewhat downward spiral. Mix's reason is probably due to major interference from a full grade christian station out of Huntington on the southside. And Rewind seems to have tightened up their playlist. Wtda is now behind Wnko in the classic hits battle but for some odd reason WTDA's cume is higher. As for WTVN moving to FM I think if Clear Channel were to do that I'd say they would probably Move WNCI to 93.3 and put WTVN on 97.9 due to 97.9's signal compared to the other signals they own. Of course Soft Rock 93.3 would probably move to 106.7 since Gen x is their lowest rated FM station. The only thing I see that will probably liven up the board is if one of our 4 country signals decides to go CHR to give WNCI a run for the money. And the comparison between 104.9 the river and soon to come to Columbus K-love.

This is a miserable market. I truly hate Columbus radio stations. I cringe every time I turn the radio. I haven't posted on this dead board because I give up. I just don't care anymore.

I completely understand the sentiment, dawg. That's why I archive all of my episodes on the web -- so that people don't have to go through the painful process of turning on their radios in order to hear them. :)

When you have numerous stations run by the same company it is pretty bad when it comes to competition. I realize when a format is big our city saturates it like we have with country music. Top 40 is firing up in other cities while we are still stuck with WNCI. In our city it seems like the only competition you'll see is in Country,AC, And various versions of rock especially classic rock.

A little research.  The Cincinnati board had 32 threads which had had at minimum 1 comment in August.  Columbus had 4 threads that met that crterion, including this one.  That drives it home.  Would probably be even far sadder if you looked at total number of posts.

Unless we get a suprise format switch at a longtime formatted radio station there will be probably be nothing big to post.

There is really nothing to say about the Columbus radio market right now... Nothing interesting going on... WTVN will not be going FM, WNCI will keep being the only CHR.. Clear Channel will keep 'getting it right' being the top stations in the market... 93.3 WLZT will go Christmas in early Nov... People will still gripe that we have to many religious formated stations... I'll still be able to hear the SAME NPR programming on 3 stations at the same time in this market. (talk about waste)... the Ohio state buckeyes will keep screwing up.(The FAN will keep cheering them on and limiting dislike towards them) Yep Columbus pretty much keeps staying the same =P

You know how the saying goes... if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all. :p

933 flips to oldies ;D

OK, guess it's time to issue a very un-Rush like statement here: I was WRONG. ;D Although I guess we can't be absolutely certain until at least Tuesday...
