While I Was Sleeping...

Well,

I see the news has broken.

Thank you all for the kind words. I really appreciate it. I said this to WBCN GM Mark Hannon today: I'm leaving with a renewed vigor for what we do. Because I'm going to be able to help my new station in a programming capacity. And also a deep sense of disappointment for not being able to help more at WBCN. I will miss my home very much.

In the meantime, WBCN has remained completely classy, and continues to put me on the schedule. So, you only have two more weeks to kick me around :)

Everyone there has been beyond cool to me, and I wish them all nothing but success.

I'll continue to check in. Feel free to drop a line any time.

What, no going away party from your former employers in Worcester? Bet your new station has way less infighting and backstabbing and favoritism. And way better ratings. Good for you!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm sure that most of my former employers/co-workers are happy that I'm back in the company. Those that aren't, don't have to deal with me anyway, so it's wasted energy to even comment on it. Dysfunction is the lifeblood of American society. And nowhere is it on display more than in our industry.

If we were stable, we wouldn't be doing this.

I know that someone in that building had to approve my hiring at KQRC, and I thank them for that. I've been looking at cost-of-living, and weather, and the station's performance, and have come to the conclusion that this is a great opportunity to improve the quality of life for my family.

And if you don't have that...what do you have?

I'm around until the end of the month.
