While Moby Is Away, Dead Air Will Play

What's going on at the Moby broadcasting headquarters? Today, Jim Vann was guest hosting - or trying to, anyway - when the feed suddenly stopped in the middle of a Carrie Underwood song moments ago. Not sure what the deal is... so I sampled another radio affiliate to try and figure out if it was across the whole network. South 107 just played a couple of songs with no liners, then went into a commercial break. After the break, they just continued playing music.

Meanwhile, the show's Monroe, LA affiliate just ran eight minutes of dead air and then nonchalantly went into commercials. After the break was done, they simply resumed the dead air. Gotta love it when Otto Mation is in control...

I tuned out of both stations before 7 AM. Anyone know if Jim Vann and the gang returned?

Check the orbital dynamics of birds in geosync orbit. Many of them are not in the umbra at night.

I've always found the production values of MITM to be like the proverbial little girl with the curl in the middle of her forehead. When they are good they are very very good, but when they are bad they are horrid! Sometimes the studio (such as Moby's living room is) sounds like an AM station remote, with real bad processing with no low end.

Moby's living room? I believe he owns a building where his studio is, somewhere around Haynes Bridge Road.
