While Rhubarb gone from Eagle; still co-hosts upcoming MDA telethon on CW 69!

"Plans are in full swing for the 2008 MDA Labor Day Telethon, and you're invited to be an important part of this year's broadcast! For the 11th year, CW 69 will serve as our "Love Network" station. Emcees will include local personalities Keisha Williams, CW 69; Ken Cook and Russ Spencer, FOX5 Atlanta; Rhubarb Jones, and other special guests!"

Just because Rhubarb lost his job doesn't mean he is going to go into hiding and not host the MDA telethon. I understand he is a very humble guy, and is not going to let a loss of a job stop him from giving back to the community.

When WAGA quit broadcasting the telethon after the famous Children's Miracle Network preempting the Stanley Cup Finals incident in 1997, they let Ken Cook and Russ Spencer host the telethon on WUPA, even though they are competition (and even aired WXIA produced news at one point - and they are owned by CBS, which was the network WAGA was affiliated with before the New World deal).

BTW...Rhubarb is now a part-time instructor at Kennesaw State University.

Ofcurse he'll do the MDA telethon,Rhubarb loves kids and this telethon is for them. He still did his march across Georgia even though he didn't have a radio sponsor. His contract with Citadel expires April 1,2009,so maybe we'll hear him again after that.

Rhubarb hasn't ruled out returning to radio. He just has to stay off the air unless it's Citadel until April 1. He sounded great doing the MDA telethon on CW 69.
