While We're At It...

Let's not forget the information guys...

How about best news person and best play-by-play sportscaster (besides Paul Eells).... Talk show hosts??

Best play-by-play would have to go to Jim Davis in Camden

Best news would be.. do we have any good radio news people in Arkansas?

In central Arkansas, they are nearly all on public station KUAR 89.1. Several former KARN reporters. Time was, several *music* format stations had respectable news departments, but that went the way of of post Telecom Act clustering and cost cuts.

Yeah Ron Breeding and David Wallace would probably be the two best that I know of. Bart Haynie is a hell of a reporter... Rita Richardson up at Russellville was with KARN for a number of years... she is a dang good newsperson. Good radio newspeople are hard to find...

I for one utterly despise gathering news with every bone in my body.... I have a lot of respect for the guys who actually can do it and do it well. I don't mind reading it, but being a reporter just isn't my cup of tea.

Ron Breeding for news...HANDS DOWN! Breeding attempted to train me as a young whipper snapper. Still remember those Christmas brownies...love ya Ron!!!

David is over at KUAR 89.1 after having served a tour of duty at UAMS. He got married and is apparently very happy. Talked to him earlier this week.... I'm afraid those Wildcat tendencies are probably still around.

Miss Rita is in Russellville. She has been at KARV on and off and also served as the head of the River Valley United Way for some time. She is the pastor of a small church as well. She is one of the finest ladies I have ever had the pleasure of knowing or working with, and will work how ever many hours it takes to get everything done.

All right Media Mogul...wanna tell me who you are? LOL! Are you someone from my distant past? You're starting to scare me now.

LOL.... It sounds like we know a lot of the same people doesn't it... I worked with Rita in Russellville and came to Little Rock a short time after the Ron Breeding/David Wallace era ended at KARN.

Taylor Carr of KARN comes to mind. Ron Breeding is on up there. Marinelle Howard from years ago at KOTN-Pine Bluff also comes to mind as far as good radio news reporters go.

Taylor Carr... also best play-by play announcer in the state. He in the mid 1990's and Max Morgan in the 80's were the best that UALR basketball had.
