WHIP 1350 Mooresville updates

WHIP 1350 AM in Mooresville has FCC approval to move its AM transmitter to a new site about a mile from where it is now. The station also has an FCC construction permit for its FM translator to move from 99.3 FM to 107.3 FM. At the current site, WHIP’s FM translator on 99.3 operates directionally to protect WRKB’s FM translator on 99.3 in Kannapolis. Moving to the new site and changing frequencies would eliminate that requirement once everything is built and licensed. The only thing left is county approval to build a new tower at the proposed site. If that goes through, WHIP would move to the new location and could sell the land where the current tower sits.

will this effect WMXG in any way? Could they move closer to Charlotte or is WMAG on the first adjacent 99.5 what is blocking any move?
or does Kannapolis W257EI 99.3 or Charlotte W256BP 99.1 block anything?
 
The FCC applies their rules about separation betwen stations/frequencies and if it works, it gets granted. Since it was, there is no interference.

I think WMXG would have priority over the translator and 99.3 in Chester is probably as close as it can get. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I can't speak for that county, but from what I've seen as recently as today talking with a dear friend of mine who is the president of a ministry which has several stations/outlets, they are in for an uphill battle.

I don't know where I got that from.

But the idea that night games for Davidson can be heard depends on the tower being closer to Lake Norman, which I was sure I had heard was done.
