Whispering Bill...

Anybody know if (or even know of) "Whipsering Bill" is still messing with stations around the area?

This guy would call in over at KLIF all the time under false pretense and once he was on-air all he would say/whisper is, "This is whispering Bill" and then hang up.

Anyone else hear this in the past? Is he still doing it?

Didn't bother me, but I tell ya, it REALLY got under a few people's skin! Martin Birnbach would go off on the guy...funny stuff! ;D

Well, the way I figured it, if Birnback didn't get so upset on-air and start yelling at "Bill", he likely would have got bored and stopped. But since he knew he could get a rise out of Birnback, he kept it up.

The Whispering Bill I'm referring to is just a random listener who calls in to bug hosts, not a country music artist.

LOL, so true! I mention to my doc one time that I had read the prescription he was writing me could cause seizures. His snide reply of, "Oh, you know everything" was a little dickish.

Anyway, I was just curious about the caller...I worked at KLIF before I landed my gig at Clear Channel, and was wondering if the guy was still up to his antics, but it seems that no one knows who this joker is.

I haven't heard from him in years. He was hitting on KAAM at one time. I think he hit Jack Bishop one time when I was in studio with him. The other time I know of was when Air Britannia was on Sunday nights and he called during a show. I remember him saying This is Whispering Bill Anderson while dragging it out. Then hang up.
