white elephant day

Yesterday was the 3rd annual White Elephant day on the Ticket (where all the hosts/producers switched up shows, partners, roles, etc.) This makes for very entertaining radio. I applaud The Ticket for always being creative and innovative. They are always coming up with new ways to promote the station and that's why they're the best. [the 'ticket compound' bit last year was the #1 all time greatest things to happen in the dfw market ever].

Something like this could never work at a station like WBAP. We are too old and stale. Heck we don't even have local hosts for most of the day. Even if we switched the Hannity and Rush tapes I'm not sure too many people would even notice. (get it, cause they're the same)

The trouble is that YOU don't work at WBAP!

[EDIT].

Ty Walker gave Jody Dean a pretty good ripping. Said Dean was a fraud and that he treated co-workers badly. Gordon Keith defended Dean. And so did the producer.

donovan's tickers made me actually want to listen to the tickers. why don't they give all the tickers a little flavor?

also i DO work at wbap, ask me anything

JS-
If you do work at WBAP, why would you be so foolish as to criticise the people you work for? I'm with King... I don't think you work for WBAP.

Maybe he should jump ship and become a BO at KRLD? I understand they pay BO positions a little better.... Hey even $2.00 more per hour is better, right? ???

honesty is the best policy. our programming could use improvement (and who's couldn't?) and if I were PD there are many things I would try that are different.

besides, most of the things I say are in jest. I really do love my job, but I am critical of the state of the industry at a whole right now. (and lack of local programming is my biggest pet peeve)

WBAP, I agree. You don't work for 820. Perhaps you dust the monitor off on the third floor for "Miki".
