White Sox To Stay On The Score

It appears that the White Sox are close to completing a multi-year deal to continue having their games air on WSCR/"670 The Score".

Smart move by Jerry Reinsdorf. What does he know about the radio business, and why would he put multi-millions into it? It would have to be downtown-based FM station unless he had been planning on buying WLS or WMVP. Otherwise it would be deja vu 1971 WTAQ/WEAW all over again.

And then, what would he carry during non-Sox time? Fox Sports Radio? I don't think they have an outlet in Chicago.

Unless a major Chicago FM was planning a flip to sports, it would've been crazy to leave 670 The Score. Perhaps a simulcast with 105.9 FM is closer than we think and Reinsdorf is aware of this. :)
