While I'm sure we all appreciate your feedback, I'm also interested in hearing from someone who doesn't use this forum primarily to push a racist agenda.
BTW, I'm not trying to be a smart ass. Surely you know that you're pushing a racist agenda and I couldn't care less. I just have a legit question and you aren't able to answer it objectively. I'm just trying to make sure I get some legit answers too. After all, there's got to be a reason to talk up Whitesnake other than the fact that they're not called Blacksnake.

I do notice a lot of Hot ACs doing that. They frontsell two current acts and add "and some 80's retro from..." some band we haven't heard from since. I bet they only mention the ones that test through the roof though.
I always think it's funny when they frontsell bands that only get one hit played. Are 25-44 females listening to the Whitesnake frontsell and thinking "Ooh! I hope it's 'Here I Go Again'."

Why is everything labled Racist, when it has to do with a white/black issue??? Just because WS is a Rock band and West is a Rapper its a racist issue. I guess West's remarks about the Hurricane was not racist in any way, shape or form. Give it a rest already.

You have obviously never read Klassik's previous posts. All you have to do is look back every two weeks or so for either a whiny "Where is my rock station?" thread or a bitter "Why are they catering to the minorities with all these Urban stations?" thread. You can pretty much set your watch by them. I don't post to this board often, due to the fact that I am not currently working in the business, but I do visit the site regularly and it gets very old to see this guy's name come up when posters are looking for objectivity.

White Snake are a bunch of musicians that play their own instuments, sing their own notes, write their own music. "Here I go Again" was a melodic intro into good hard sounding rocker you can sing to.
Kanye West is another 15 minute famer with samples, no vocal chords, no song writing skills, no instruments. Maybe some production and most is done for him. Just another corporate record company discovery to be placed in our faces. And to replace Jay Z, and probably 50 cents who's 15-20 minutes are probably coming to an end because Kanye is louder. Especially politically.
Now you want to compare races.....Wilson Pickett. What's wrong with him. Yes he passed recently, but even in his last moments he could hold a note better then Kanye. That was a singer, songwriter, performer. Yes he was loud, but you wouldn't know it because you didn't have the same type a press behind someone like that with super talent. No hype , no glamouration. He could have shown up anybody on stage. The press only hypes stars for the Jerry Springer crowd.
Rap sucks, yes it's predominately black, so be it. It sucks. And the music industry and radio is over run by it. And that's why the industry isn't selling. Don't blame Napster. This was showing signs even when the CD became big. What kept it alive was adults re-buying their collection and catalog from companies like Rhino which made up for 50% of the sales compared to current product. Were talking as far as 1988-89. You take away catalog, then you just have marginal or moderate sales. Then it really dipped in the mid 90's.

Read E. Gill's initial post, one more time, slowly and out loud, invite a friend to clarify if necessary. He was expressing an opinion that it was kind of weird to be selling a Whitesnake song "coming up next", on WSTW, 20 years after the song peaked. He never said the song sucked, or had no place on radio, he just thought that was odd. He never said Kanye West should have been put in its place. (I personally do not like West's music very much, but he has sold a few more CD's in recent months than Whitesnake - sarcasm intentional, who I do still listen to on occassion)
KlassiKKountry is obviously a rock fan, if you take the time to read some of his posts, pick 5, he basically says the same thing over and over, and often implies that black people have too many stations, and whitey doesn't have enough, even though white people, especially young white males, listen to stations such as Power, 100.3, and 96.5, just as much, if not more than African Americans do.
If one of the radio companies in town thought they could make money off a new modern or active rock station, they would do it!! I would welcome the addition, but I'm not holding my breath.

It was not an 80's weekend (or weekday), that song still gets a ton of airplay for a 20+ year old song on MMR, BEN, YSP, etc..., so there was no shock value in it. Now, KlassiKK, will they still be saying "coming up next, Kanye West" in 20 years? Maybe, maybe not, but thats not for just you to decide!

That crowd left and went over to the Internet or satellite like many groups. I'm one of them myself, and with so many new resources, and couldn't give a crap what terrestrial radio does.
Maybe it's the times that we don't realize and i'm not generalizing, if you want rock, real top 40, and not obsessive rap/hip hop or spanish on your radio dial like it seems now, maybe whites and adults in general are just throwing up their hands or just looking down on terrestrial and will just move on to a new frontier or neighborhood for music. And that's why what's happening That Klassik is complaining about.
And Klassik feels like it's taking over his world, when he probably needs to move on with the rest of us to the world he 's seeking to stay in. And That is Internet and Satellite my friend.
Same with movies...you don't need your VCR or DVD much longer. The stores that cater to these people are in lower incomes as far as mom and pop operations go.
Move along with the rest to streaming.

That crowd left and went over to the Internet or satellite like many groups. I'm one of them myself, and with so many new resources, and couldn't give a crap what terrestrial radio does.
Maybe it's the times that we don't realize and i'm not generalizing, if you want rock, real top 40, and not obsessive rap/hip hop or spanish on your radio dial like it seems now, maybe whites and adults in general are just throwing up their hands or just looking down on terrestrial and will just move on to a new frontier or neighborhood for music. And that's why what's happening That Klassik is complaining about.
And Klassik feels like it's taking over his world, when he probably needs to move on with the rest of us to the world he 's seeking to stay in. And That is Internet and Satellite my friend.
Same with movies...you don't need your VCR or DVD much longer. The stores that cater to these people are in lower incomes as far as mom and pop operations go.
Move along with the rest to streaming.
