Whitney Houston 1963 - 2012

Unfortunately, one of the best in 80's and 90's pop has passed.

Your career spanning many, many years and it's great music, has and will stand the test of time.

Rest in Peace Whitney...

I am devastated by Whitney's death. I was born in 1979 and have listened to all her music growing up. I've been a huge fan of hers over the years and never abandoned her - even when she was at the low point in her career (primarily the early '00s). I own all her solo albums and most of her soundtracks.

I am still stunned and very saddened by her passing. Her beautiful voice is one of a kind, and I blame Bobby Brown for getting her hooked up those drugs and bringing her down to his level.

While I am fairly certain that Bobby Brown was definitely NOT a good influence on her, I really don't think that we can blame him for her death. At the same time, I wonder if maybe her image (prior to meeting Bobby Brown) was not as squeaky clean as we had been led to believe at the time, and that maybe she had met Bobby Brown because of her partying. Again, I don't know that for a fact, only speculating here. It is fairly clear, however, that she did not clean up her act post-Bobby Brown.

My cousin works at the casino in New Jersey, and his co-worker knew Whitney growing up. She basically said that Whitney was using well before she hit it big.
