Whitney Houston, RIP 48 years old

For some reason, this isn't hitting me hard. I guess the sudden Michael Jackson death has desensitized me so not much surprises me anymore. But I know I will cry if I hear about Madonna or Eminem dying.

WRKS (Kiss FM) says they will be airing Whitney Houston's music and taking calls, "Through the night."
WKTU and WEZN (Star 99.9) are also playing her songs back to back.

WLTW and WKJY also joined in the fold. I believe that every radio station who did play Whitney Houston's material also mourn the loss.

So much talent. Truly a loss.

I will miss her.

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

Whitney Houston is another artist that transcends genres, just like Michael Jackson. Almost any format can play her music. From oldies to CHR and even dance.

Too tragic. Looks like it was a long downward spiral though that she never recovered from.

So sad that such talent is gone.

:( a beautiful woman, problems and never could actually deal with them. So sad, The Talent she had, RIP she is in Peace now. Never will forget her music!!! so young!!!

I'm glad that both 98.7 Kiss and 103.5 KTU are wall-to-wall Whitney Houston music today. Many other stations are also playing Whitney Houston songs often. She had such a beautiful voice. R.I.P.

I remember the day after Michael Jackson died many stations of different formats played his music. There was an e-skip opening that day, and I heard stations of various formats all over the country (from the Gulf Coast to the Midwest and even Canada) play his music. Whitney Houston is another artist that transcends formats.

That was not really surprising that she died. Whitney was respected for her time as a singer from 1985-2000. Once the year 2000 and when Bobby Brown came into play she became just another celeb on drugs that existed on the National Enquirer, TMZ and the Murdoch Tabloids.

Two of the three biggest voices of a generation (with the exception of recent Super Bowl performer Madonna) are now gone. Sad...

I find it annoying when stations who never played her songs all of a sudden start playing the songs in "tribute". I had Fresh 102.7 on this morning and they were playing a WH song, and it was probably the first time during the station's entire existence that they played one of her songs. I guess I just find it annoying that it's not until the person dies that they are willing to acknowledge how good her music was, rather than playing the music all along.

No one ever likes it when a celeb slips past the Deathlist.
As their motto has it, "On today, Gone tomorrow"

:'( so so sad, beautiful woman a beautiful voice, I just wish she would have gotten help before it came to this. Let it be a lesson, GET HELP!!!
