Whitney Houston was 48

I wasn't a big fan but the news makes me sad.

I found her style annoying and don't get why some people thought she was boring. But her special "qualities" are what made "Saving All My Love for You" so good. Her first hit was a duet with Teddy Pendergrass called "Hold Me". I also liked "The Greatest Love of All". Her first solo hit was "You Give Good Love", which I haven't thought about in years but I guess I like it okay. "Didn't We Almost Have It All" was another one I like.

The first time I saw her was on "As the World Turns". Having never heard of her, I assmed she was a character on that show who was starting a music career, and deserved to have one.
