Whitney Houston's death and Mississippi Radio

WIQQ in Greenville did a tribute during the morning show Monday.

Mix 98.7 began playing a Whitney song out of the top hour all day Sunday with a tribute played at 3pm and repeated at 6pm.

WRBJ did a one-hour tribute on the their Sunday True Soul show. Also, the syndicated Tom Joyner, Michael Baisden and Rickey Smiley shows (all heard throughout the state) did show-long tributes to her as well.

silly question....why are celebrities that die from od celebrated ??? smh

First of all, we don't know how she died. It could've been drug-related, but let's wait for the facts to come in.

Whitney Houston is celebrated because of her contributions to music and her talent. Even people who aren't normally fans of her music recognized how super-talented she was. Think of how many people became fans after her rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner 20 years ago.
