Whitney on NBC

I watched the first episode and the piped in laughter just killed it for me. Every word of dialogue is not funny.

Yes - some clever critic stated that if they are going to name the show after the "star," this show should be called Laugh Track, not Whitney.

It's too bad, too because I liked Cummings' stand-up material, and um...find her quite fetching. But after 3 or 4 episodes, I have no desire to see the show again.

Since no one seems to like this show, if it fails and Whitney Cummings finds herself out of a job, I wonder if she'll move in with Kat Demmings and Beth Behrs over on CBS? Or is a three a crowd in a tiny Williamsburg apartment?

Here's and idea. Whitney gets a ticket on PAN AM. The plane crashes in final episode. We end
two bad shows at once. 8)

Why so much hate on Whitney and no hate on Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Mike and Molly, Two Broke Girls, etc.? They're all the same in the fact that the network wants to see joke after joke after joke on these shows. That's why I respect FX for taking a chance with comedies like Louie and It's Always Sunny. These are creative and funny shows.

I never saw an episode of "Whitney" but the commercials didn't appeal to me. She does have a behind-the-scenes role in "2 Broke Girls" which I really like, so there must be something to her style.

WGN America has been running (with bleeps) "It's Always Sunny" and I've finally had time to watch. I like Danny DeVito the best but Kaitlin is pretty to look at and she's the brains of the group. I discovered the show a few years ago when Fox ran some episodes.

She not only has a "behind the scenes" role, she created, and was slated to star in, both shows. Having no idea that both shows would be picked up when she pitched them, of course. When it became clear that both shows were picked up, she chose to star in Whitney, and then the main brunette role in 2 Broke Girls was recast.

Looks like she hitched her main boat to the wrong show. Of course, I think her replacement fits the show better anyways.

The only reason I watch "2 Broke Girls" is Kat Dennings. I liked her in the TV series she did with Bob Saget. nd in a movie I saw several months ago, without even knowing who she was. Ironically, I didn't know which one she was, and she's nothing like those other characters.
