WHJJ NEW SCHEDULE

What will be on before Helen and will she still be all talk??
They should of put Mrs Glover 3 to 6.

Wow.... sounds like a real creative schedule. They better do better than that if they want people to actually pay attention.

Looks like 920 heads for the crapper. Who knows? Maybe CC will run this into the ground much like what happened 70 kHz up the dial...

At least CC is only running 920 into the ground from a programming standpoint. Any potential buyer should CC ever sell would get an almost "turn-key" operation, as opposed to 990, which by anyone's standards could be considered a Bob Vila "This Old Station" project.

Big difference there, Dave.

The only person who I even think will be good for the station is Rush. He's got a decent fan base who will follow him over. His show alone will probably give HJJ more listeners than they've had in years! But sadly the rest of that lineup just flat out blows. It's times like these that I wish I could play Program Director. If they want to stay with syndicated programming than that's fine. They should at least air the good programs which are available. Isn't Phil Hendrie available again? How about Joey Reynold for overnights. Somebody give me a list of 20 Syndicated programs. 19 of them are better than the crap that they've chosen to air. That's just my opinion.

Good point. If CC is going to do a "talk radio on-the-cheap" format, then this would be a perfect opportunity for them to "cherry-pick" from among the best that satellite syndication has to offer.

Joey Reynolds would be a good place to start......a welcome alternative to the UFO/conspiracy talk on "Coast to Coast".

Is Dennis Miller available in the market? Always been a fan of the "rant man".

Well......that's 2 dayparts taken care of ;)

Good point, but i can't believe they're being allowed to run it into the ground they way they are. I mean at least not for the amount of time this is going on.

I understand from a revenue standpoint the station is less important than their FM's, but it's still a missed chance to generate revenue. The fact that CC regional management has allowed this station to flap in the wind for as long as it has really is mind boggling.

This is what you happens when you have a bunch of suits who are the laziest mother effers on the planet. As long as they can still collect a paycheck for doing nothing, than that is what they will continue to do. NOTHING! But it definitely is mind boggling.

As much of a screw up as I am, I bet that I could turn that place around in two weeks. Let me in there on a Monday. When I leave the following Friday there will be all new programming ready to go. Programmming that people will want to listen to and that will bring in ratings.

As it stands I think they load up a dartboard with names of shows and just air whatever the dart hits.

Entercom or Hall should come in and make an offer.

Kenny:

I agree with that sentiment. For thier own long-term survival, 920 and 990 would likely be better off in different hands.

I just don't see Entercom as a likely candidate. They really only use 103.7 as a glorified translator for thier WEEI regional network, and I doubt they would have any use for a second signal here.

Hall seems more likely, since they might like the idea of strengthening thier market presence by enlarging the cluster.

For the most likely candidates, you might look to the ranks of the second or third tier group owners around the country......Especially those for whom thier "agenda" is more important than anything else.

Two perfect examples......EMF (the K-Love people), and Trinity Broadcasting Network......players for whom little things like being a "stand alone" in the market, or rebuilding ground systems and towers, etc. don't matter nearly as much as fulfilling The New Testament's "Great Commission" to preach the Gospel to the World until the end.

To a lesser degree, Salem probably fits into this catagory too.

Unsure if TBN has any radio outlets; I did hear that Salem was sniffing 'round 990 awhile ago. That'd be interesting; sister stations on the same frequency. Salem also has WFIL 560 down here, and WIND 560 in Chicago. Could 990 Philly and 990 Providence be far behind?

DR,

That explains the wy and wherefore of 560 and 990 down here in Philly. 560 does the preaching/teaching; 990 the conservative talk along with some local college sports.
