WHJJ,,, STEP UP TO THE PLATE!!!

Buddy is getting boring pretty quick. Depetro has been turned into the 'Morning guy', instead of what he was born to do, Hard driving Talk host.. Dan Yorke is about to lose his right arm, in Matt Allen leaving his show. I'm saying WPRO maybe a little venerable . I've seen that Helen Glover has higher numbers in the last book. Picture Glover 9 to 12, then Rush, then Matt Allen, or some other flame thrower, with smarts! Sure, WHJJ is making money and thats all those guys, like Corwin, care about, but you only live once. We Rhode Islanders only live once. I think A Lot of us would like to have a choice again. And HJJ, you could make more MONEY! ;)

Just a few bad mistakes can cause you to lose lots of listeners. It seems like WPRO has started to turn down that path. Moving Depetro to mornings was mistake number 1. Moving Savage and tape delaying the broadcast might be mistake number 2. Keeping sleepy Cianci on board will probably be mistake number 3. I liked him as mayor and I even have a jar of his marinara sauce in my kitchen. But he's not very exciting to listen to. This is the perfect time for HJJ to make their move.

I am thinking more and more they should take Holland's advice and put WHJJ on 93.3 too.Just end the madness on that wasted FM frequency

The Add campaign could be, " Where Back!" yea, a couple of new hosts and one
big Bill Board. I do like WPRO very much, but we do need another talk station.
and I agree 93.3 just like 99.7. HJJ could do it.

Alfie, you mean We ' re back! Or you could say, We are back!
Heard Andy Crish is trying to get a Sports talk show at Hjj.
Andy, that was programming on Whjj about 15 years ago From 6 - 8 , the ratings were terrible.

The simulcasting we now see of WPRO-AM on 99.7 is just one more example of the trend nationally of heritage AM news and talk stations making the move to FM.

The logic and common sense of a WHJJ move to 93.3 to me is so compelling, it makes me wonder why it hasn't already happened.

Could Coast be billing THAT well, even though it is Holland's 'one music station too many'?

I could see all sorts of cost savings for CC with this move, plus the side benefit of selling off 920 for some quick $$$.

But......as Dennis Miller might say: "I could be wrong".

Last I heard about Gresh is that he has plenty of fill in duties over in Bristol CT at ESPN and that there might be something else of prominence (outside of Providence) coming up. He's on FSN with the Mohegan Sun tonight gig a number of times a week, as well.

WHJJ can still do it. FM is not the answer. There is plenty of raw talent out there to make a run at WPRO.

We know the names. it is just a matter of WHJJ spending the money to do it. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they are willing to do it. It is a shame because it can be done and it would only serve to stoke the fires to bring AM radio back to life.

Buddy will always be popular, but there is plenty of talent around to make it a real race out of it.

But Radionut, how many bridges has WHJJ or people in the current regime there burned with that talent in the past? I unfortunately think that there would have to be further house cleaning deemed from the regional mgt to allow for any of those names to even consider going over there....and the corporate climate (from reading posts here have led me to believe) really needs to change. Not that Citadel is a cake walk either from what I'm being told; but it's been a long time that Oxford St hasn't been fun

Yes you are right but I still think that if they have any sense of wanting to compete with WPRO they are more than capable of doing it.
