WHJX in Metro Jacksonville

What is the status / format of this station? In the recent FCC Auction 91, a Liberty Broadcasting won the battle for a class A station in Coosada, AL (Montgomery market). While trying to guess the format 93.1 FM will bring to the Gump (Montgomery), a search for Liberty Broadcasting came across WHJX. But, it seems as if this station has been a Progressive Talk station and an urban or possibly hurban station recently. However, the current Radio-Info board says the station is owned by West Jacksonville Baptist Church and the format slot is empty. Could this possibly be the same Liberty Broadcasting moving into a much smaller market? Just curious.

I live in Jacksonville, FL. FM 105.7 WHJX about two years was run by Andy Johnson, he (Andy Johnson) board cast Left-Wing radio. He moved from FM 105.7 WHJX, to FM 105.3 WJSJ. LBN does NOT own WHJX. A show called "Earth" host by Dr. Drake and Dr. Truth board cast out of WHJX. Earth web site is www.EarthRadioOne.com

WHJX 105.7 has been off the air the past couple of days. I'm not sure if it's a technical problem or that they may be re-tooling. Since they've got a new religious owner, I would guess a new format is in store soon. Also, it looks like another religious group, New Covenant Ministries, owners of WJNJ-AM 1320, has powered up their 103.7 translator W279AG, Atlantic Beach upgrade. I believe their construction permit authorizes them to run 250 watts at over 900 feet from the Southside antenna farm. They seem to have a good signal here on the Westside, a few miles north of Orange Park, plus they're running an RDS display!

Re: WHJX/WJGM in Metro Jacksonville

WHJX 105.7, went back on the air June 27, 2011 as WJGM 105.7 - Jacksonville's Gospel Radio, under the ownership of West Jacksonville Baptist Church (which was previously on 91.7 FM before moving up the dial). They are currently broadcasting gospel music 24/7 with live DJ's in the studio during the morning, afternoon and evening (Can't confirm the overnight hours).
