Thanks to everyone who has lent a hand. "WHK: Celebrating 90 Years of Broadcasting" radio special is re-airing from the beginning this Saturday (tomorrow) night, 7/14, from 8-10pm. Tell a friend and tune in. The rest of the program will air the following 2 Saturdays, 7/21 and 7/28. Enjoy, Joe Sweeny, PD of Newstalk 1420 WHK

Thanks for programming tip Joe and glad to have helped.

I do want to ad I came across this:

This was WHK between their Oldies period and their time as a Sports Talk station as the ad (the first thing in this WOIO commercial break) is from 1989. It was also when WHK was sister stations with WOIO and WMMS.

Check out that long, convoluted phone number for that party line!

Also, WHK's business format didn't last too long, as in (I believe) 1991, they switched to news talk.

They had Merle Pollis in AMD, G. Gordon Liddy's then brand-new syndicated show middays, Joel Rose in PMD, and a simulcast of "Newscenter 8" at 6 p.m.
