WHKC Things to come?

I can't believe I took the time to do this, but I went through all of the programming logged in at xmusicmatt's link (from last Friday at 12:00 AM to yesterday at 3:37 AM) and found no evidence of the infomercials that some of us were griping about 2-3 weeks ago. It was 100% music.
Does this mean that Robb now suspects that the spots did in fact violate FCC regulations, and so he won't be running any more in the hope that the Commission will appreciate that and find it in its heart to forgive and forget his past transgressions? Or does it simply mean that he raked in so much money from running the first batch of the garbage that we won't have to be subjected to the pile's smell again for another month or two?

Sounds like WHKC is still seeking their own niche. Maybe 80s isn't what they want to be when they grow up. :D

It isn't unusual (or perhaps I should say "at one time, it wasn't unusual") for a station to sprinkle in songs from another genre to add flavor. For example, a country station playing the Eagles or Gordon Lightfoot. WHKC has been playing songs from the 90s and beyond for a while now. And songs from artists like DC Talk and other CC artists hit AC and pop charts frequently. Michael W Smith, Amy Grant, and Nicole Sponberg come to mind...

I sincerely hope 91.5 keeps playing a variety of music. As long as he does, I'll keep my Ipod in a drawer! Heard "just between you and me" by april wine and "no way out" by jefferson starship recently. Great tunes!

Agree completely. I notice they seem to have freshened their mix recently with a lot of tunes they hadn't been playing before. It's still odd to hear those occasional 40-minute spans of all-70's, mostly-soft AC (including one elevator-music instrumental cover of some 70's tune I can't place). But that's just an occasional detour from the norm. Overall HKC plays a really nice variety, especially compared to the other local music options.

I notice a lot of times when I tune in during the day it seems they hit a very slow period and it reminds me almost as sleepy as the old "Easy 108"

Word on the street says a "change" is coming after September 1. I heard the same type of talk in March and nothing really changed. Stay tuned...
