It was three years ago today that New York has lost legendary radio personality Dean Anthony.
Anthony has spent over 20 years on Long Island's WHLI and WHLI paid a tribute to his memory by playing old radio airchecks of his days on WMCA and his shows on WHLI.
Dean has also been a longtime Program Director at WHLI.
Although this may be a little off the topic, has WHLI moved towards an Oldies/AC format? Yesterday I've heard near the top of the 8 o'clock hour a song by the Dells who are more associated with R&B.And today they sounded a little more like Oldies WCBS-FM.
Maybe this is just short term and the station will go back to their regular format tomorrow.
Thanks,
Kevin L. Sealy
