Friday morning, WHLI was back on full power and using the new second tower.

Was this one of the AM towers? I guess they must have had structural problems to require replacement? I've climbed the FM stick numerous times a few years back to service a traffic cam & m/w link.

One of my engineering friends told me that the second AM (not the one with the call letters on it) rusted out. Since it has been standing in the elements since sometime in the early 50s, it makes sense. The other tower is made of better materials, I guess.

With the current state of NY area radio, you may want to consider using a different username. ;-)
