WHLI Moving Towards AC?

It appears that WHLI 1100 AM is adding a little more AC to its mix. This includes Michael Buble's hit from last year, "Home". This is the most recent big hit by a mainstream AC act that WHLI is playing.

WHLI is also using the slogan, "Playing Your Alltime Favorites".

What the station needs to do is keep playing the Big Band Standards at the same play the AC artists that mix well with the Standards.

Thanks,
Kevin L. Sealy

Kevin, I don't listen to HLI much, but I'm sure I've heard quite a few Michael Buble tunes in the past. I don't think its something new.

Kevin, [EDIT]

If you listened to WHLI at all, you'd know that WHLI plays Michael Buble along with the new Barry Manilow, Rod Stewart, Diana Krall and lots of new artists doing the Great American Song Book along with MOR favorites from the 50s/60s and 70s. They play almost no big band music anymore. The liner has been on-air for at least six months if not longer.

[EDIT-personal attack]

I do listen everyday. It's just that Michael Buble's, "Home" is more ACish and it's the most recent AC song they've played.

Monday they've played a standard by Smokey Robinson which I thought was Sara Vaughan. I would like to see Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, and even the living Beatles do some standards.

Diana Ross has recorded standards in the past in 1972 when she played Billye Holiday in, Lady Sings The Blues"

How was what I said to Kevin a "personal attack"? The line was something about that he had posted the same crap about WHLI going AC on the Dentist's board. This based on the fact that the station is playing a Michael Buble cut that isn't a standard.

Who is the invisible moderator that is editing my post?

I know WHLI has rated in the Bridgeport, CT book, but I don't remember if it was 110 alone or when they were on 740 as well.

I wonder if adding AC will change anything in the ratings along the CT Shoreline...

Jack:

I didn't take it as a personal attack, eventhough you've mentioned that I've started this same thread on the New York Radio Message Board.

I post on both boards because not everyone reads and posts on the NYRMB and Radio-Info.So by posting on both boards I reaching a broad audience.

Thanks,
