WHLY flips to Catholic Radio today

Re: WHLY flips to Catholic Radio today/WNIL Ending Local 1-1-07

Well, new development in South Bend area radio. According to the South Bend Tribune, WNIL 1290 will be going solely syndicated radio. RJ is leaving, due to financial reasons, and Gloria (of Gloria's place) is leaving/resigning/retiring.

Hopefully that same development finds it's way across to the FM side of the dial. There are some FM stations up there that have some serious programming issues.

WRBR has quite a few issues, most notable is their overly repetitive playlist as well as what seems to be an ever changing lineup of jocks as well as a midday guy in Ron Stryker who seems to have no charisma whatsoever. The Bear seems to be ripe for the pickings and if AMP were to flip 97.7 or 102.3 to active rock maybe 103.9 would come out of hibernation. For some reason, they are reminding me of how WAOR was wallowing in its own complacency ten years ago when The Bear came to life and it wasn't too soon after that AOR has switched to an all classic rock format.
Just my two cents.
