WHN Reunion Monday 2/25 On Air Reunion 2/26

For all those in the NYC area:
WHN radio reunion Monday, February 25th at Hill Country Live, 30 West 26th Street in Manhattan
WHN switched to a country format on February 26th, 1973 and remained country for fifteen years.
Advertised opening is at 7:00 pm, but Hill Country will actually open at 6:00 pm
At 7:30 pm I will moderate a panel with deejays from WHN's "glory days" Lee Arnold, Larry Kenney, Dan Taylor, Mike Fitzgerald, Jessie and Alan Colmes
Live Music by "The Bellamy Sons" Noah and Jessie will follow
Admission to Hill Country Live is FREE to everyone for this event. Listeners welcome.
I plan to have some copies of my new book (WHN: When New York City Went Country) available

For everyone:
The next day, Tuesday February 26, there will be a on air reunion of Lee Arnold, Larry Kenney, Dan Taylor, Mike Fitzgerald and Jessie (with Gene Ladd doing news) from 9:00 am until 3:45 pm on 89.1 WFDU. The broadcast will also be available via streaming audio at http://player.warpradio.com/php/WFDU-FM/

I just want to say thank you Ed for bringing the WHN crew together for a wonderful show today on WFDU FM.It was nice to hear those familiar voices of Lee Arnold, Larry Kenney, Dan Taylor, Mike Fitzgerald ,Jessie and Gene Ladd on the air again.Today's WFDU broadcast actually sound like WHN when it was on the air 30 years ago.

Plus the phone interviews with all the familiar country artists of the time. That was great to hear them talk about old times with you guys.

I was a big fan 1050 WHN up here in Connecticut where country music was scarce .We've lost WIOF Waterbury in early 1978 in my listening area and the only good clean signal choice in my area was 1050WHN to hear my favorite country artists up to the last day when WHN became WFAN..The signal came in great here.Other stations came and go over the years as we know But my radio dial was always tuned to 1050 WHN.

Thanks again for the heads up on this event and bringing back the good ole days of radio Ed.

Thanks Skip R.

You are very welcome, Skip.
All of us had a great time and Lee, Mike, Larry, Jessie, Dan, Gene and music director Pam Green made me look good, just like they did in the 70s. I also think we sold some copies of my new book "WHN: When New York City Went Country" as a result. :)
