Who are the best?

DJ Sun because he has created a unique niche for himself over the last decade. Not only as the host of Soular Grooves on KPFT but also through his live DJ gigs and his involvement with the current exhibit at the Contemporary Arts Museum. He was the first in Houston to present his unique blend of music.

Uh, David...I think you are probably the most talented radio/ music person this city has ever heard. Most people on the Board (I suspect) don't know who you are or what you have done to Houston Radio. That in itself blows me away.

Madd Hatta & Crazy C doing Straight From Tha Streets on 97.9

If Cox would let Paul Christy, be himself, he would be the best. But, reading liner cards and scripted material does not show his tremendous talents.

I'd have to go with Rowdy Yates at KILT-FM. He's funny, entertaining, he has great pipes, and he seems to know the music inside and out. The epitome of "personality radio."

This one's easy.

Leslie T.

Just wish we could hear more of her.

The girl is hooked up in the local music scene and is about as knowledgeable about the music she plays as anyone on the radio today.

Of course, some changes have taken place since that post. The lovely and talented Zoe Bonet is no longer with KODA and my old buddy Larry Jones is now on Praise 92.1. Pam Kelly, is at the Point. I enjoyed visiting and sharing some laughs with Pam at KIOL while I was doing the Sunday afternoon board thing at KFNC.

You nailed it! How bout this? Let Paul pick the music, burn the liner cards, and hang on to your guts. They could throw away their little "people meter" or whatever the thing- of- the- month- is---Paul would blow the city away. I heard he had a 10 share on Mix for a Saturday night show. I guess success doesnt matter anymore.

You nailed it again with Rowdy. He is exactly why live, local, plugged-in, and funny beats self-strokage imaging, liners, and boring every time. And beats it badly. I would turn off the Sirius to listen to him.
