Who Are The Rays Announcers ?

Lol -- I'm listening to Yanks-Rays and Derek Jeter's 4-for-4 so far, 3:30 PM Saturday.

The station I'm listening to for this occasion is WAZL 1490, Hazleton PA. They're a graveyarder, 1000 watts day and night. This station (Oldies otherwise) airs the Rays, perhaps mostly because manager Joe Maddon is from Hazleton.

The Rays announcers are very good. At least one of them sounds like an ex-athlete.

But they never say their names! Who are these folks, who make each radio cast sound like some March spring training game, amid all those palm-tree commercials for Tampa-St. Pete-Clearwater? Are they broadcasting under some witness-protection proviso?

We are fortunate to have excellent broadcast talent for each of our major league teams.

They give their names. It is possible that when they come out of a break, the station you are listening to is rejoining the broadcast after they announce themselves.

That would be a timing problem the station needs to correct.
