Who benefits with a Sonics return?

I guess on the tv side, Comcast NW would have the inside track. On the radio side, it would be between ESPN 710 and KJR 950. Don't think 1090 is established enough to make a serious effort. Unless there is some built-in contracts that exist if this occurred, unlikely. And Kevin Calabro...is there any doubt he would be back in the saddle as the main PBP guy? (Not to get ahead of ourselves here...)

Not so sure about CSNW as that would lock out all the sat TV viewers.

I'd agree with your radio choices. 1090 is nothing more than a spot-clearance outlet. And of COURSE Calabro would be back as PXP!

Now all we need is a team...and an arena... 8)

Root Sports NW? They've been airing not a lot of local sports lately - only time I really watch Root is for the M's - when they are not LOSING!

It would make sense for them to want to be on KJR. With addition of 102.9, KJR's signal on FM would penetrate a good portion of the SW Washington market. There cannot be a station carrying the Sonics within 75 miles of Portland, but 102.9 would get into that area fairly well from the other side of that line.

Key Arena.

But radiowise, I'm sure KJR will make a push for them. They've had them for several years off and on with KTTH.

A few friends of mine contend the Sonics were put on KTTH to hide them- terrible night signal on the eastside. All part of Clay's master plan. At least we aren't hiding our true intentions in stealing the hapless Kings.

New tonight...Guess what? The Sonics have a good chance of coming back into town.

This will create many media opportunities.

Who will gain?

That year on KTTH also featured David Locke on PBP... So even if you could hear KTTH's 5kw at night, you never really wanted to.

I felt the same way at the time...
