Who do you miss? (part 2)

Despite the antics and stories, there were two things he excelled at, writing a spot and delivering it. Notice I didn't say reading it.

So true. Who else could come up with a line about a sporting goods store's location like "a chip shot off the sunset side of Interstate 8?"

La Mesa Furniture and Escondido Motors Limited never had it so good.

Re: Thanks!

Nick Baby! Greener and I have wondered about you... Nice to "see" you again!

I might be in LA in February, it would be nice to see you in person too.

Bring back Nick Summers from KJOY 94.1 Soft and Easy!

Bring back J.B. MItchell from 13K he is the most talented man to ever sit behind a microphone, or to install the mic!
I thought Nick was working back on the east coast now?

123kgb & Garrett, thanks a million! It's nice to be remembered.

Nope, not back East. I'm in Los Angeles doing VO. I also do Sat & Sun afternoons on KKJZ 88.1 in Long Beach (formerly KLON) hosting "Nothin' But The Blues" using the name Nick Gerard. It's one of the most enjoyable gigs I've ever had - playing music that I'm passionate about to an equally passionate and enthusiastic audience!

Soft and Easy K-Joy never really got off the ground, but I did have some good times there - notably when they sent me to London to broadcast live from the Abbey Road studio on the 30th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper. That was pretty amazing. Coe also went and did the broadcast for KGB.

Garrett, I remember you well from the short time we worked together. You struck me as a true radio enthusiast.

Thanks again for the mention, guys.

Hi Nick!
Still an enthusiast, but that's all I am at this point. I miss that old control room from K-Joy, some of the best time I ever had was playing that music!

You know Nick my favorite memory of my time at KJOY 94.1, was standing in the studio at Kearny Villa with you. And you I were talking about Carly Simon, and I made the comment that she had the ugliest lips ever! And you told me why her lips were truly beautiful! HAHA. God do I still miss KJOY, we had a great time there when it was the Soft Oldies!

Dump Star 94.1 bring back Soft Oldies 94.1 KJOY! Then we can all have jobs again! Hey it's working in Dallas just look up www.platinum967.com it's an awesome station! They are doing the same thing we did at Soft Oldies 94.1 KJOY in 2000!
