Who does the best job on NFL games these days?

I'd say either Al Michaels or Mike Tirico and Chris Collinsworth on NBC. Joe Buck is really good on FOX too these days.

The NBC broadcast on Sunday nights is still the ratings leader, and Al Michaels serves the program well. The other NFL network announcers are all quite good, but there is a drop-off when it becomes to lesser viewed games. Joe Buck is good on Fox, and he gets the best games for a reason. For CBS, I guess it is Jim Nantz, who is good, but probably better at golf.

Couldn't disagree more when it comes to CBS. I'll give a ranking of my favorites from last season:

1. Buck/Aikman - FOX
2. Dedes/Wilcotts - CBS
3. Michaels/Collinsworth - NBC
4. Harlan/Gannon - CBS
5. Eagle/Fouts - CBS
6. McDonough/Gruden - ESPN
7. Nantz/Simms - CBS

I very rarely get to watch the 1 p.m. games on FOX due to being in an AFC home market. While Thom Brennaman is telling America how bad Da Bears are, my FOX station is airing a 40 year old movie.

Joe Buck & Troy Aikman even know they don't do much Lions games,
Al Michaels & Chris Collinsworth,
Chris Myers use to be John Lynch before becoming the GM of the 49ERS,
Charles Davis is pretty good in the booth with Kenny Albert,
Nantz/Simms although it will be Tony Romo this year.

I can remember when Fox first started with the NFC package, they had some weird choices for regional games like Eric Clemons or Mike Breen. They've improved since then, with Sam Rosen or one of their college football guys doing the 7th or 8th regional games when needed.

Mike Bush did some AFC regional games for NBC in 1994(Colts-Bucaneers and Bengals Seahawks). Now, he anchors the 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts alongside Kay Quinn and the 10 p.m. newscast solo for Kdsk in St Louis which is an NBC affiliate. I wonder if he is one of the few PBP guys to also do news?

Al Michaels is always a great listen. NBC does a fantastic job on the Sunday Night package, and there is little drop-off when Tirico does the games.
I think CBS is dramatically better than Fox. Better presentation, better studio crew and deeper stable of announcers.
