Ive been listening online to KWIN, what a great station with great imaging. It is ran just like a CHR Mainstream, but has an all rhythmic playlist. Can anyone tell me the name of the Voice Over guy, and the imaging package they use. This guy is by far the best V/O guy ive ever heard. I think its the same guy that alot of stations used back in the 80s and 90s, I just cant remember the guys name to save my life? ??? :-\

Yeah I agree that he is the best, I wish more stations would have him as vo guy (cough "kmel" cough)

What all rhythmic or CHR stations use him as a voice over, I would like to sample them if anyone knows what all other stations he is on.

naw actuly he has the less, I think eric edwards has the most next to dr. dave

Maybe now days, but I can remember when he was on alot of stations in the 80s and 90s. In east Tennessee, both CHRs WOKI Knoxville and WKSF Asheville NC, and even WBBO Greenville SC all used him as a voice over. Also in Myrtle Beach, he was on the old Power 98, which is now Mix 97.7,,, I think he also used to be the voice of Urban 98.5 Kiss FM in Myrtle Beach.

Keep in mind the format is evolving, as the music for Rhythmic CHR moves into a more mainstream direction, so has the imaging....Lots of stations are beginning to use voice talent that have been (so far) mostly used for mainstream CHR like Jeff Berlin, Brian Lee, Brian James, and the guy that my station uses Scott Matthews...in fact my station is essentially a Mainstream CHR that plays Rhythmic music, so our packaging reflects that.

My all time favorite v/o guy for CHR and Rhythmic CHR (or almost any format for that matter) is still Mark Driscoll (www.markdriscoll.com) He was huge in the 80s like Mitch Craig, and even though he isn't heard as often as he used to be, I still think he has the best "pipes" in the business. If I were programming a station there is no doubt in my mind that he would be my first choice for sweepers if he was available.

Oh, and other favorites for voiceovers (in any format) would be Saint John (who works at KYLD San Francisco and does a lot of rhythmic voiceovers), and also I've always liked Dude Walker. As far as female voices go, I've always thought Anita Bonita was one of the best.
