Who FOX Wants In World Series

Irishfl said:
A SF vs. Texas World Series means awful East Coast ratings...

... and an even more drawn-out negotiation period between Fox and Cablevision...

@KeithE4: Indeed, Cablevision viewers could view the Yankees in the ALCS... but now, either way, they will be unable to see the Yankees in the World Series, let alone the World Series...

New York won't have to worry about not having FOX on Cablevision now :)

Now its Texas vs San Fran or Philly
Im thinking FOX hopes for Philly

And Congrats to Texas for making it to their first World Series

From your Angelino brothers Congratulations San Francisco Giants. I think many like myself in Los Angeles area will be watching FOX & the series. ;)

I don't think the Phillies would have gotten the same love from NYC. :p

It should be noted that the local Fox affiliate in Dallas has been running ads that they may be dropped from Dish on November 1st. Considering the fact that Dish dropped all the other Fox cable channels a month or so ago and still haven't reached an agreement with Fox, it seems likely that a big chunk of viewers in the DFW area will not be able to watch the Rangers in the World Series - if it goes to a game 5.

As for the ratings.. it depends on how Fox bills this series. I think the first-time teams always bring some interest. However, it's generally better if one of the perinnial favoriates like the Red Sox or Yankees are one half of that combo.

As a Rangers fan, I can assure you I will be watching. :)

Obviously Fox would've preferred in this order.
#1. Yankees / Phillies
#2. Yankees / Giants
#3. Phillies / Rangers
#4. Giants / Rangers
And Fox gets #4!
