Who had better NBA Coverage...

...ABC or NBC? I liked the NBC coverage because there pre and post game shows were informative and interesting. ABC coverage is ok though. So, the question is, who had better NBA basketball coverage?
______________

I preferred the NBA on NBC, mainly because of the "NBA on NBC" theme song.

I also enjoyed listening to NBC's announcers/commentators - I became accustomed to their style over the years. I felt that certain announcers, such as Marv Albert, did a very good job of communicating a close game's "drama". Compared to what NBC offered, there haven't been a lot of games carried on ABC (and I haven't watched many of those ABC games). So I don't really know how ABC's on-air team compares - although, I definitely enjoy Hubie Brown's commentary.

NBC by far. I wonder if Commissioner Stern realizes that he made a mistake going with ABC. I used to watch almost every game on NBC but barely watch the games on ABC.

The NBC coverage was excellent. More interesting and the overall on air performance was excellent. ABC's coverage is more boring, but it is ok.
______________

NBC's coverage was better by far.

I still enjoyed the CBS Sports coverage of the NBA in the 1980s and 1990.

I'd say the NBC coverage was more memorable, given that the network didn't have to work as hard since the NBA had better known superstars (and 'plotlines')during the 80s & 90s.

My biggest gripe with ABC's coverage is that they try too hard to be cute or hip, and end up being neither. The highlight montages with played out pop tunes. The halftime 'performances' that are nothing more than music video snippets. And Bill Walton.

Although it wasn't a choice, I actually prefer TNT's NBA coverage. I might be alone, but Marv Albert on play-by-play and Charles Barkley's pre/post-game comments make even the doggiest of games entertaining television.
______________

Hear all the Sports Themes Here. Tesh Rules!

From the Conan O'brien goofing on John Tesh days, it has to be NBC. In fact there is an Arcade game called the NBA on NBC. I don't play Video Games, because I was born in the Pinball Machine & Dial Telephone era. Anyway I placed 2 Quarters in this NBA on NBC Machine, and had no idea what to do, the Music sure sounded good!. I just found a great Website where you can hear all the great Sports Themes, Tesh still wins!

I lost interest in the NBA when the '99 season started late due to the lockout. I found out I didn't miss the league, and have watched maybe four games total ever since.
The league itself has declined in quality, along with its TV coverage.
I would give the 'all-time' edge to NBC, with its team of Marv Albert and Matt Guokas, as well as Dick Enberg and Steve Jones doing doubleheader games.
