Who had the bet Tornado/Storm coverage for the Mother's day Storms?

WSB, WAGA, and WXIA/WATL did a great job. WSB had Glenn Burns, David Chandley, and Brad Nitz anchoring coverage. WAGA had Ken Cook and Steve Milone, and WXIA/WATL had Paul Ossmann and Chris Holcomb. I suspect after the Downtown Atlanta tornado, they all would be pulling out all the stops.

WGCL/JokeChannel 46 had certified meterologist Laura Huckabee on at 5 AM (I have to use that term since the new chief "weathergirl" has no creditientals), doing a regular forecast (complete with 5-Day), and talking in a manner as if nothing was happening (and they were live!). They went back to paid programming in minutes, while a tornado was barreling down on Ellenwood. It is a shame, and the station should shut down their news department (or have their license revoked) if they cannot respond to their community any better. If Gene Norman were still in town, WGCL would have had coverage on-par with the others.

WGCL probably did not want to pay the overtime. Additionally, they probably needed to air the paid programs to get the revenue.

Agree with you on all the coverage from the other stations. Was impressed with Ken Cook's coverage.
