Who has the most commercials?

Heard 25 commercials an hour on KIRO, 22 on KOMO. It got me
to thinking who has the most commercials in town. Clear Channel
has the least thanks to less is more. KLSY has dropped to 10 or
11 an hour, JACK has about 10. On FM KZOK and KPLZ have a ton. I
counted 22 on KPLZ and 19 on KZOK. Gads! Can anyone top that on
FM? KJR only had 9 an hour which seemed the lowest. What is the
average around the country? KRWM and KWJZ have about 11 too. Didn't
have time to listen to everyone.
Edited by ripvanwinkle on 04/11/06 04:02 AM.

National average for Am is 15 minutes an hour, FM at 11 minutes. Clear Channel
stations run just under nine minutes an hour of FM, 12 minutes on AM. Not sure
who is the leader in this market. My guess would be the AM stations. I truly doubt any FM plays 22 minutes of commercials an hour. You must have miscounted.

I think he was mentioning the number of spots...22 divided by 2 (considering they were most likely :30 sec. spots) equals 11 minutes...works out in my head anyway...

Wow, a radio guy who can do some simple math...scary, huh?

Most commercials? - Winner is...

KIXI
(16+ minutes an hour)

I think Mr. Vanwinkle should go down the road to Factoria Mall and buy a calculator.

Besides, he's comparing morning drive spotloads to normal daytime spotloads.

And the reason KLSY plays fewer commercials is because they can't sell what they have.

When KPLZ promoted "another 48-minute music hour!!" I kinda went slack jawed. That might have worked before I-Pods, sat, and net radio. Today it sounds like they're giving you an intellegence test and should you pass it and keep listening, you're really dumb.
