Who is already missing sports on TV?

I've never really thought about what it would be like without sports on TV, since it really has never happened in my somewhat lengthy lifetime. But I find myself missing it greatly. Not sure why, because this is a time of the year where I have no teams in the game. But something is terribly lacking. The ability to turn on the TV and watch a good competition, no matter who is playing. Makes me realize while I enjoy rooting for my teams, I also enjoy the action. And no, I rarely bet, so that isn't it either. It is just something primal perhaps. Thoughts?

So far it's not that obvious. As we start getting past opening day for baseball, and what would have been the playoff races in the NBA and NHL it will sink in.

Hanshin Tigers vs. Orix Buffaloes live now. NPB spring training continues with empty ballparks even though the regular season start has been pushed back indefinitely. Strange.

I wonder if the MLB Network or even ESPN might be interested in a deal with NPB for games if their season starts before MLB's does. Of course, the play-by-play would have to be done from New York over a clean feed, because games for domestic consumption are announced only in Japanese.

Hunting and fishing shows? Roller Derby reruns from the 1980’s?
Just cut ESPN’s fees off my cable bill, please.

I get the jokes but what is not funny is how much this is costing the economy surely pushing us deeper into a recession. Billions are being lost here. I will not judge the decisions being made but this is going to ripple through not only the sports world but the entire economy. It ain’t going to be pretty.

This just in: NFL Players Ass'n approve the collective bargaining agreement. 17 game season, expanded playoff field in 2021.

Something to look forward to. Free agency opens on Wednesday.

The UFC says they won't be canceling any fights.

They're looking for new venues, due to travel restrictions.

Doubt that statement the UFC is saying until one of their fighters face a positive test. Note California and Nevada has confirmed that fights will be suspended until March 25 in Nevada and March 31st in California due to State of Emergencies in place for COVID-19.

When you look at the pro sports unions, the NFLPA is the weakest.

It ain't exactly sports but the highways around Phoenix are jammed with people who have never witnessed the explosion of spring flowers we get after a week of rain. :)

While sports makes a nice weekend diversion, I'm not losing sleep over the loss of it. I have more important things to deal with (and it isn't the Coronavirus).

Naah, they're driving all over the Valley looking for toilet paper. :D
