Who is in charge at WZLX?

WZLX still has Beau Raines listed as P.D. ?

http://www.wzlx.com/contact/stafflist.asp

Isn't he hosta la vista, baby? (some spell it hosta, some spell it hasta)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103064/quotes

Whoever was on today sounded like a High School intern. Who do we write the
complaint letter to? Carter Alan or Chuck Nowlin in charge now?

the dude was talking about Wilson Pickett recording "Hey Jude" with Duane
Allman on guitar...like, it's lunchtime or whatever, just play the record -
ask permission - do something interesting. Stumbling over his words he
sounded like George W. Bush's response to the Brokeback Mountain question,
only not as amusing.

If anyone has an aircheck of today's WZLX mid-day shift, it's a strong argument FOR Mike FM and jockless radio.

That was Bill Abbate a vetren Boston jock. Former WBCN,WBOS etc. I listened to the entire show and enjoyed it a lot. I was just wishing he could play a little of that version of Hey Jude. You should tune over to ROR if you don't like the commentary. That's what many of us enjoy about ZLX. You learn a little about the old stuff. Carter Alan is the interim PD while they continue to look at other applicants. Mark Hannon is the GM.

Classic Rock stations don't play R&B/Soul artists at all, so they won't play Wilson Pickett. The only black artists played on Classic Rock stations are rock crossovers such as Jimi Hendrix.

Classic Hits stations play some R&B/Soul hits by some of the most major artists, such as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and occasionally Wilson Pickett, but not Classic Rock stations.

The only exception on WZLX being "Sunday Morning Blues" with Carter Alan, but that's a weekend specialty show.

Thanks Professor- God help someone if they want to hear something "different"

I like Bill Abbate as a person- didn't know it was him. Nice guy,
but yet another "political hire" by WBCN. Oedipus wanted to cut payroll
and get rid of Gil Santos & Gino. Rumor has it The Kraft Family slapped
Oedi right down on that one. Peter Brock and Bill Abbatte are no
Gil & Gino (or perhaps the past tense is more accurate, were no Gil and Gino)

For these "quality broadcasters" to be giving us too many loud commercials,
talent that is jaded, and music-by-muzak, they are giving Satellite a real
gift. Then again - if the idea is for the 6 radio companies to buy
satellite, well, maybe Bill Abbatte was SUPPOSED to sound like his mind
was on something else other than his job.

As usual fight, you are out of your mind. The most important thing any jock does on a commercial radio station is play commercials! But then again, I can see where that may be difficult for you to fathom since you have never worked at a commercial station!

So you knock the guy because of his spot load then druge up something meaningless based on specualtion from 1995! Bill didn't even start working with Peter Brock until 1997 and the two never considered a replacement for Gil & Gino - Never. If there is any proof of this, I'd love to see it.

And what does buying satellite have to do with a jock criticism?

you are truly ignorant,,,it's extremely evident in your posts...you must be a wanna-be on air dude, otherwise you would realize how difficult it can be when you're a newbie at a station...start a thread on yourself once you get an on air gig..then we can critique you.
