Who Is Kevin Wall And Why Is He On WTKK?

C

Casablanca

Guest
Turned on Egan & Braude only to hear they are on vacation. They are replaced by someone named Kevin Wall who I am sure is not local and not sitting in the Morrissey Boulevard studio.

He is awful with at a Capital A. Sounds like another right wing Rush sound-a-like. Is this the best WTKK can do?

Seems like what the new PD has done is a good way to lose the E&B audience. Why not get someone local like Jimmy Tingle or Jimmy Meyers who is only on Sundays.

This Kevin Wall is a station turned...to any station but 96.9 WTKK.

It shows the PD at 96.9 has NO understanding of the Boston audience.

did a websearch using "kevin wall talk radio"

>>Kevin Wall Bio "Born and raised in Missouri, Wall considers himself a “Pragmatic Conservative”. He’s a fiscal conservative while moderate on many social issues. Wall comes to “general purpose” talk from the world of sports radio, where he worked at the very highest levels of the industry. He began his career in radio in Kansas City (KCMO/KMBZ); he has also worked for some of the nation’s top sports radio stations like KJR in Seattle and WXYT in Detroit."

Apparently he's done sports talk for Sporting News Radio but veered into general talk after 9/11. Westwood
One had him fill in for Lars Larson, Jim Bohannon, and Ron Insana.

and speaking of fill ins, check out the Aug 6 entry at http://www.bostonsportsmediawatch.com

The blogger laments the use of Mustard & Johnson in place of D&C (when was Callahan last on the
air anyway, spring training?): "When they attempted the political/news talk that is a staple of the D&C show, it was some of the worst radio heard in these parts since...last week." He also mentions Steve DeOssie and
Fred Smerlas were filling in for The Big Show but ESPN890's Michael Felger was "on the job"

Wall is from Missouri which why his voice sounds like Rush. Maybe he is even broadcasting from the EIB Studio but it certainly isn't the E&B Studio. Bad choice for 96.9 to make. Found myself turning to Rush. Why get the imitation version on 96.9 when you can get the real one on WRKO?

Kevin is in Nashville right now. He did mornings on WLAC for a year and a half. He also has a weekend show on KFI and fills in for Glenn Beck among others. In fact I believe he is doing Beck's show Thursday. So yes, he is basically conservative. He did Hockey PBP for WW1 for the Winter Oympics last year.

Well, he has all the appeal of a hockey puck..........

And they couldn't find anyone local? Come on.

Mustard and Johnson? the Bickersons? So contrived. And when I heard DeOssie and Smerlass co-hosting, I quickly changed to 890. We're definitely hitting the end of the bench. I have to say John Rook wasn't bad this morning. I'd like to hear Buckley and Tony Mazz together (have they done that yet?)... I like Buck on Sunday mornings, even with Mikey Adam's detracting a bit.
