Several years ago I started doing research for Wikipedia at UNCC. They have access to Charlotte Observers before 1984 online. Mecklenburg libraries have this too.
So I found some stories about Love 97 and added information to the WKKT Wikipedia article.
One article that had already been used as a source (I just checked the history; it was me!) said a DJ was using the name Mike Stevens but that wasn't his name. I couldn't find anything useful in the article and didn't understand why I used that as a source. But it said Mike Stevens of WSOC was not the Mike Stevens on Love 97. One of the two Mikes said it shouldn't have been a problem. No one who listens to the 40 and 50s music on WSOC is ever going to listen to Love 97.
Actually, I did listen to both stations. And WSOC was playing a lot more than 40s and 50s music. I remember Kenny Rogers.
