Who is playing Christmas music?

Three good songs after Mike Huckabee, so I'm willing to turn the other radio back on.

"This time of the year when Christmas is here." Not one I am that familiar with, but nice.

Updating as I listen, then I'll post.

Five in a row.

Six. No commercial break.

Eight, and now the required commercial break. But interference is making it very hard to hear. It was only occasional and now it's constant.

Eleven. No commercial break. But I haven't heard a station ID. And there isn't usually a commercial after Mike Huckabee. That's probably something that doesn't require someone to be there, but I think their automation may be on the blink. We'll know in ten minutes.

Thirteen and that annoying interference finally stopped for more than five seconds.

It keeps coming back.

The station did not go to news, and no station ID either. But we're up to fourteen now. Maybe they read my complaints!

Sixteen, and we would be back from news.

It has been an hour and we're up to nineteen.

Correction. I was right about Bobby but it's Darin, but Vinton. I don't know the name of his version.

I've lost count but we're over 20. If you count the Muppets version of "The Twelve Days of Christmas", which I'm willing to do.

I'll have to turn it off soon because it's getting close to sunset. And I've been putting up with this interference for most of the past 30 minutes.

I forgot to mention one other station. They have talk shows such as Rush Limbaugh and a local morning show which is news and talk, but yesterday and on the day after Thanksgiving they were playing Christmas music at the time of the local morning show. Though it sounded like a syndicated talk show this morning. I'm not ready for any kind of music when that clock radio comes on, but it alerts me to put my clothes in to wash.

The other station just got too hard to hear. In addition to interference which I seem to hear around the power line going past my house when it happens, a second station is coming in clearer than the one I want. It's almost sunset. But 20-plus songs is really amazing.

Speaking of Yule Log, Hallmark's Movies & Mysteries Channel had a Yule Log video on last night. The video (which was a scene of a fireplace decorated for Christmas) was set to Christmas music. The playlist consisted of a lot of crooners - Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra. You would have liked that.

Probably. I'm listening to a Yule Log right now (since it's all I have) where the only vocals are by choirs (correction. There is a soloist but she sings opera style, and she's been joined by others). It's premium quality music which radio doesn't seem to play, and that's a shame. A lot of it is religious but there are, of course, secular songs such as "Jingle Bells" and "Deck the Halls".

You'd think they wouldn't cut us off on the day after. My family gets together in a couple of hours.

And I intended to turn on the radio last night to see what FM stations were doing, but just got busy. No station that is AC the rest of the year will make me happy. But I have seen such stations play as many as five songs in a row that I liked. Not good enough if I want something on in the background, because I don't want to keep getting up to turn it off if Mariah Carey or something comes on.

Over the weekend, BBN was still playing some Christmas music. They don't play music all the time and not all the music was Christmas, but it was nice.

The DJ did tell people they should think about contributing.
