So who is really responsible for the death threats and disruption in the lives of the women on the bb team...Imus? nope. He DID make a real error in judgement, and then he should have apologized and let it go (which he tried to do)...

BUT..then Sharpton and Jackson blew it WAY UP (followed by any black leader who wanted 5 minutes of fame), and as a result a good broadcaster who is responsible for an amazing amount of support and charity work, is out on the street, And the poor women of rutgers are getting death threats, and are in a terrible position.

All because of what imus said? Nope, all because a few black media pickpockets wanted to use it as a flag for there own causes and fund raising efforts.

??? I agree with the previous that there are some people out there who are nothing more that opportunistic media hounds. Jesse Jackson is one of those, having witnessed his protests at some major league ballparks around the nation for not hiring enough blacks. Too bad he didn't do his homework which he does quite frequently. However, Imus stepped way over the line in stereotyping a basketball team. Imus went to the slang, to the trash-talking in his vocabulary.

And, because Jackson and Sharpton used the "racist" angle to get Imus fired, are broadcasters (anyone for that matter) to walk a fine line in making ethnic remarks? I think the same should hold true for other races of people. In other words, I shouldn't expect blacks to poke fun at other races, correct? I mean they should be fire as well. What have we started? ???
