Now 97.5's Santa Show is a really cute idea and it makes the kids so happy. And I must admit, it's fun to hear these little kids thinking they're actually talking to Santa. Recently when Santa said goodbye at the end of one call, the kid simply replied with "Merry Christmas, Santa!!!!!" You could totally hear all five exclamation points. He just sounded so happy and innocent. And I'm so damn old and jaded. But it was so cute, I damn near cried. I believe my heart grew three sizes at that moment. (Of course, that may have just been because I eat a lot of cheese.)
Speaking of me being jaded: Y'all know how much I hate to be judgmental, right? (LOL.) The production value of the Santa Show is just dreadful. Like when Santa is talking into the mic and he tries to be all slick and segue into a phone call (recorded in case he gets a little descendant of Chase Utley, I guess), it couldn't be less smooth of a transition and the change in audio quality is just so glaring.
I'm gonna stay away from judging Santa himself because, you know, that'll pretty much guarantee I get coal. But I wonder (and this really is the point of my post): Does anyone know who's playing him?
