i listen to alotta radio stations all the time and i chec out the mixshows on fridays and satursdays nites.
who is the best mixshow dj on radiomaybe rapking can comment on this question as well.

DJ JC (Atlanta,GA: V-103 Midday Mix)
DJ Lil Boy and DJ Speedracer (Tallahassee,FL: BLAZIN 102.3 Saturday Nights).

DJ Herb V-103 (Atlanta, GA: 5:00 Happy Hour Mix)
DJ 2DQ Hot 93.3 (Austin, TX: morning show mixes and night club mixes on Saturday night) Although I really like his mixshows on now defunct stations Beat 104.3/104.9
DJ Throwdown Sam K104 (Dallas-Fort Worth, TX: Throwback (warm-up) mini mixes at 10 & 11 A.M. and finally, the actually hour long Throwback mix at noon

I gotta go old skool with Red Alert, back in his heydayz on the old 98.7 Kiss fm New York . Funk Flex ( Funk master flex Hot 97 NYC ) and Clinton Sparks ( Jamn 94.5 Boston , Smashtime radio ) is cool .

I gotta go with Power 106 in LA... the NOON Mixes... and the Holiday Weekend mixes..

B-96 Chicago is a close second, but includes dance music.

Also my Radio One station WHHH Hot 96 Indianapolis and even our radio One CHR throw down some phat Hip Hop beats... lots of scratching and samples used on the radio one stations.

Hmmm.... do I have a lot to say on this.. but what I have to say deserves a thread of it's own. I'll get to it later because I surely don't have time to talk about it now. I do have people that come to mind as favorites, but there are many things that just should not be done during a mixshow that people continue to do all the time, and why stations feel the need to hire dj's that they know are off beat more than average is beyond me.... but I'll get to all that later.

There should be a requirement for a dj to be at least a little above halfway decent at matching beats and knowing the true purpose of having bpm's before getting hired for any full time radio mix show. I find playing Lady Gaga's "just dance" at 130 bpm to make it fit with another song that's faster than that unacceptable, and even more so when the song is mixed off beat. Then, even worse if a certain part is poorly looped to create a bootlegged intro, and if we're going to sit here and try to use this off loop as an instrumental to blend over another song that is off beat during 80% of the 2 or 3 minutes the dj was trying to blend it, that deserves an immediate pink slip to whoever is doing this, regardless of whether or not the mix-show is done.

There should never be a time that a song gets off beat so much that it gets to the point where the beat starts matching again with a complete opposite off count!

I've even heard some on-air personalities express their unhappiness about a dj who was coming to fill in for another dj during their shift live on the air. I will not name any names, but I'll get to all this later. How he got by on so many stations without anyone terminating him for this long? I have no idea...

Throwdown Sam-K104
Dj Lil' E-97.9 The Beat
Dj Tiger-K104
M-Squared-97.9 The Beat
All of the mixers at Hot 96.3 in Indianapolis
Mic Tee-K97 Memphis
Rapid Ric-Hot 93.3 Austin
GT-97.9 The Box Houston
Skooby Jones-(The now defunct)Hot 104.3 Lubbock, Tx.
Imperial Dj Savy-101.9 Kiss Fm NC.
Dj Phil-97.9 The Beat

Now for the bad ones: any dj who calls their show a mixshow, but they don't mix any songs. They hollar over the songs, and they drop bombs between each song. That's not mixing. That's just plain damn annoying.

I hate terrorist mixing too, but at least we don't have this happening here in Phoenix anymore!
They actually put in effort here, despite the fact things aren't always as good as can be.

All the mixers I've heard in Phoenix really put it down. Especially the ones on The Beat.
